The Challenge
What Needed Solving
People rehearse interviews, sales calls and customer conversations without ever getting structured feedback on the real thing. Recording a conversation and sending the audio to a cloud service raises obvious privacy concerns, and generic feedback is little use when an interview, a discovery call and a hotel check-in each deserve a different bar. The product had to keep voice on the device, still deliver expert-shaped coaching, and do it as one engine that could add new coaching domains without a rewrite.
Our Solution
How We Solved It
We built a React Native app on the Expo bare workflow around a set of shared engines: background audio recording, on-device speech-to-text with Whisper, playback with waveform and transcript sync, and a cloud AI analysis pipeline on Firebase Cloud Functions calling Claude. Only the transcript leaves the phone, and only with explicit per-run consent. Coaching domains are a data-driven knowledge registry mirrored on client and server, so Interview Coach, Sales, Insurance, Real Estate, Manager 1:1, Restaurant and Hotel Reception each carry their own prompts and rubric while sharing the same pipeline and report UI. Interview Coach adds CV and job-description prep, question-by-question review with improved answers, and practice clips. Premium features are gated through in-app subscriptions on both stores.
